Friends in Christ,
I hope that you and all your friends and family on the Gulf Coast were safe and secure as Hurricane Ida passed through, leaving destructive flooding and wind damage in its wake. I praise God that my in-laws, who live in a New Orleans suburb, just happened to be here visiting us in Flower Mound when the storm struck! My prayer is that all the people you love were able to evacuate or find a place of refuge to ride out the storm.
Hurricane Ida’s death-toll is still unknown, but the extensive damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure is obvious. When asked about the recovery timeline, Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser said
, “It’s going to be a long road and we are going to need a lot of help.”
Helping out when times get tough is what Christians do. UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is getting ready to deploy teams and resources to assist local authorities with relief efforts such as cleanup, rebuilding, and caring for displaced residents. The best thing we at Trietsch can do right now is to support UMCOR with our financial gifts.

Any amount can help make a big difference in the life of a displaced person or family. 100% of all funds donated through this link go directly to relief efforts. If you’d like to let UMCOR know you’re a Trietscher when you make your gift, be sure to click the “Yes, I would like to give credit to my local church” box and enter Trietsch’s name in the field that appears.
I love how generous this church is—it’s one of the many things that makes me honored to be a Trietscher. Thanks for all the generous things you do in Christ’s name!
Grace and peace,
Associate Pastor of Serving Ministries
