Butterfly Ministry, our special needs ministry, exists to provide an inclusive environment for individuals with specific needs. We not only want to serve these individuals but also partner with their families as they participate in the life of the church.

We want to help any individual who faces unique challenges related to physical, mental, behavioral or emotional needs that would benefit from additional support.

Butterfly Class

The Butterfly class is designed for individuals who might better succeed in a more structured, sensory friendly setting. Individuals in the Butterfly class will enjoy age appropriate activities and lessons to grow disciples and build community.

Our desire is to create an atmosphere that includes, accepts, and supports all individuals and all abilities.

Night-HAB is a free respite event for caregivers of children and adults of special needs (ages 5+). Each month we have a different theme and decorate and dress up based on the theme! This is a night of fun for our special friends and a night of rest for their caregivers.

The Risen King Night HAB is on April 11

Join us on Saturday, April 11 at 5 pm for Easter worship and then come over to the Ministry Center from 6 - 8 pm for our Easter Night HAB! Let's celebrate Jesus's resurrection together. All attendees must register once for the year of 2020. Come for the night to socialize, dance, and party with Jesus.

Volunteer with Night-HAB

We love bringing volunteers in to the party! You don't need any volunteer experience with special needs to come have a good time. Our friends are excited to meet you. We also welcome Middle School and High School youth as servants. They bring a level of energy and excitement that really gets the party going!

If you have questions about volunteering, contact Shelby Rabjohn at shelbyr@tmumc.org.

Safety Information

Background Checks

There is nothing more important to us than protecting your sweet kids and creating a safe space for spiritual growth. We require that all adults involved in Children or Youth Ministries, including staff, childcare workers, and volunteers, submit themselves for a background check as a safety precaution.

MinistrySafe is a safety training program that all volunteers (including teenagers), staff, and childcare workers are required to complete and renew every 2 years. MinistrySafe was created to help ministries meet legal standards of care and reduce the risk of sexual abuse using tools and technology tailored to fit the needs of churches, camps and ministry programs.
