Local Missions & Service

Find Your Spot

We believe that God is at work in the community and rather than reinventing the wheel, we aim to partner well with local mission agencies and non-profits. We do our best to keep a running list of local organizations and their service needs. Below is a glimpse of local mission opportunities and organizations. Email Rev. Gracie Millard at graciem@tmumc.org to discover even more places to serve.

Not sure where you want to serve? Take our Gifted to Serve Discovery and we'll help you find your spot to serve others that ignites your passions.

Trietsch Missions

Mission projects organized and led by members of Trietsch

MAD for Jesus

The annual MAD for Jesus Camp focuses on giving 150-200 children, grades 1-8, of the Wesley-Rankin Community Center in West Dallas, access to Music, Art, Drama and Dance.

This camp is held at Trietsch every summer and adult volunteers are needed to share God’s love with these precious children, primarily shepherding them from activity to activity around our campus. Camp is 10 am to 2 pm all 4 days (arrive 30 minutes prior). We need you as many days as you can serve, so sign up for as many days as you are able. Childcare will be available. No fine arts talent required, just a love for Jesus!

Email Pam Taylor at taylorpk@aol.com to get involved.

project transformation

Project Transformation

Project Transformation engages young adults in purposeful leadership in ministry, supports under-served children and families and connects churches with communities in need. They do all of this by remembering their three C's: Children, College students and Churches. Since their founding in 1998, this ministry has been addressing three unique challenges with one program: the academic, physical and spiritual needs of children living in low-income communities. They also provide meaningful ministry and leadership exploration for college students and revitalize struggling urban churches.

Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos Prison Ministry addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, their families and those who work in the prison environment. At present, Kairos serves 35 prisons and jails across the state of Texas. Kairos encourages the selection of leader inmates. By participating in Kairos, we have the opportunity to introduce inmates to Jesus and then show them the love He has shown us.

epiphany

Epiphany Prison Ministry

Epiphany is a Christian outreach program for incarcerated youth nationally. Our local community serves the young men at the Gainesville State School. It is similar to The Walk to Emmaus but tailored to the youth offender. Epiphany Weekends are held only twice a year, in January and July. At that time, up to 36 young men are allowed to spend three days in a loving Christian environment with music, worship, prayer, eight different talks about the Christian life, discussion, skits, music, recreation and "free world" food.
