Provide Hospitality on Christmas Eve

Are you looking for a place to serve this Christmas? We're looking for loving, welcoming servants to help us open up the doors of our Sanctuary to guests this Christmas Eve. Please contact Hospitality Coordinator Laura Sennott at lauras@tmumc.org to learn how you can serve as a greeter, usher, parking lot attendant, or welcome desk attendant.

Christmas Kaleidoscope

The kaleidoscope is a beautiful metaphor for the Light of the World found in the coming of God’s child, Jesus. Jesus, the light of the world, enters a broken world and offers life. Jesus, the very shape and pattern of God, molds us and makes each of us into a kaleidoscope of love and joy. Jesus, who came into the world through brokenness, offers us a beautiful design of God’s handiwork to help us experience justice and peace, forgiveness and hope. Love and light is here!

Join us this December for Christmas Kaleidoscope, as we piece together the story of Jesus’s birth.

  • Nov 27 | Isaiah 42:1-9 | to bring justice
  • Dec 4 | Isaiah 11:1-9 | to create peace
  • Dec 11 | Matthew 1:18-23 | to forgive sins
  • Dec 18 | Luke 1:26-38 | to offer hope
  • Dec 24 | Luke 2:1-20 | Love is here!

Christmas Missions

We're partnering with CCA this Advent to help make Christmas a little merrier for families in our community. Here are a few ways you can serve:

  • CCA Angel Trees | November 13 - December 2
There will be Angel Trees located on our campus at MissionU and in the FLC. Pick up an Angel Tree ornament tag to provide a Christmas gift to children in our community.
  • CCA Food Drive | December 4 - 19
Drop off breakfast cereal donations at MissionU. The families who shop at the food pantry receive holiday food as well as their basics, but the basics are often forgotten during the holidays. We’ll ONLY be collecting cereal.
  • Additional CCA Opportunities
There are multiple ways to serve as a family with CCA. You can visit https://ccahelps.org/get-involved/ to learn about more volunteer opportunities. You can also make a donation to CCA at https://ccahelps.org/donate/.

Blue Christmas

December 18 @ 4pm

Many of us are acquainted with the paradox of the Advent and Christmas seasons – a time when we feel we are supposed to celebrate hope, love, joy and peace, and yet it can be a time that can also be full of depression, sadness and grief. Christmas can be a painful time for some. It may be the first Christmas without a loved family member who has recently died; it may be a time that has always been difficult. The constant refrains we see about the happiness of the season, about getting together with family and friends, reminds many people of what they have lost. The death of a loved one can make us feel alone in the midst of the celebrating and joy. We need the space and time to acknowledge our sadness; we need to know that we are not alone. Our Blue Christmas worship service provides a safe place to acknowledge our struggles and provide comfort and healing.
