Leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

We envision a community where people matter, brokenness is healed, and love is lived.

Our Values

As a church, we build our relationships with God and each other on three basic values: Biblical relevance, radical love and servant ministry. Our values are the qualities we hold as important, characteristics to emulate, behaviors by which to live, traits by which to be known and virtues to be upheld. Values inform EVERYTHING we do.

Biblical Relevance is truth for today. We work every day to live into the parables and teachings of Jesus Christ and share those teachings with the community in a way that makes sense for today. Plug into worship, Bible studies, small groups and Sunday schools to grow with us in Biblical practice and committed relationships.

"Every scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing mistakes, for correcting, and for training character, so that the person who belongs to God can be equipped to do everything that is good." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Radical Love is Jesus Christ's command. We are called to love like Jesus with deep compassion for the stranger, outcast, unclean, least, last and lost. This is a choice to love all people unconditionally and challenge the status quo of religious conformity.

"Be tolerant with each other and, if someone has a complaint against anyone, forgive each other. As the Lord forgave you, so also forgive each other. And over all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity." Colossians 3:13-14

Servant Ministry is a form of faithfulness. It is how we express our radical love and become the hands and feet of Christ. Everything we do is about serving God and others, not in a self-seeking way - but giving life, love and hope to others. Find a place of service where you can care and minister to the needs of others based on your spiritual gifts. God has blessed you so you may bless others.

"Whoever wants to be first among you will be the slave of all, for the Human One didn’t come to be served but rather to serve and to give his life to liberate many people.” Mark 10:44-45

What We Believe About…

God, who is one, is revealed in three distinct persons. "God in three persons, blessed Trinity" is one way of speaking about the several ways we experience God.

We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus of Nazareth; and his life, death and resurrection demonstrates God's redeeming love.

The Holy Spirit is God's present activity in our midst. When we sense God's leading, God's challenge, or God's support or comfort, it's the Holy Spirit at work.

Genesis 1:27 asserts that we've been made in the image of the Creator. Like God we have the capacity to love and care, to communicate, and to create.

The church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.

We Are Methodists

Methodists have been known for our emphasis on a personal faith, lived out in concrete ways in the world. We have historically valued well-informed and passionate preaching, lively worship and small groups where people could grow in faith. Trietsch is part of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.

United Methodists hold to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith. We value intellect and modern science, while at the same time looking to the Bible as the authoritative guide for faith and practice. Methodists have a passionate faith with strong convictions, but we also recognize that the world is not always black and white. We are willing to ask questions, to wrestle with difficult issues, and to do so with grace and compassion.

At Trietsch, we are Christians who are excited to be part of the United Methodist Church, one of the largest Christian denominations in the world. Following the teachings of 18th century leader John Wesley, we put a strong emphasis on God's grace and the call for Christians to put faith into action.

We Are Methodists
Erwin & Velma Trietsch

Our History

Trietsch is a community of believers in Jesus Christ. We worship together, study the Bible together, teach and learn from one another, work on mission and outreach projects, and experience the transforming power of God’s love along the way.

In 1982, our first pastor, Bill Jacobs, along with a handful of dedicated men and women, began talking about starting a new United Methodist Church in Flower Mound. TMUMC was established by the Board of Church Development of the United Methodist Church, North Texas Annual Conference in March 1983. Our first worship service was on March 6 and held 117 people. Forty-one people became members of the church that day.

We are called “Trietsch Memorial” United Methodist church because in 1983 Erwin and Velma Trietsch donated their 10 acre chicken farm to build a church. In 2018 we celebrated our 35th anniversary as a church in the Flower Mound community.

Since our founding, we’ve tried to make the love of Jesus known to the community through acts of service, spiritual growth, and a worshipful environment.

If you want to get a small taste of Trietsch’s impact on the community, take a look at our Trietsch Quilt outside of the Ministry Center.
