Serenity Church
Some of you may have been at the church on Saturday evenings and noticed a worship service going on in the Ministry Center and wondered what it was all about. Serenity Church meets in the Ministry Center at Trietsch every Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
Serenity Church is a place that is reaching out, with the restoring power of God, to people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Serenity Church, from the ground up – at its core – is a recovery church. They practice the 12 step recovery program, because they believe it to be the practical application of the life changing principles which are so clearly set forth in the scriptures. They believe that as we look to a loving God for help, and put into practice those principles for living which He has given us in His Word, we will find both the strength and freedom we need to live productive and happy lives.
Those that attend Serenity are all in recovery for something. If you are suffering from addiction, depression, guilt, you name it, you will find someone else who has walked the path before you and is willing to help you to find some peace through their own experiences.
The pastor of Serenity, John Featherstone, puts it this way - "Mercy is not getting what we deserve. Grace is getting what we can not earn." Put another way, they believe that God does not punish us for our wrongs - that is Mercy. They also believe that God offers us serenity no matter what we have done (be it good or bad) - that is Grace.
Serenity Church is a place where broken and hurting people find healing. They are men and women in recovery seeking progress, not perfection. If you are suffering with hurts beyond your control, if life has become unmanageable and you do not know your next move...Serenity Church is waiting for you.
If you or anyone you know could benefit from what Serenity Church has to offer on Saturday nights, join them on Saturday nights at 7 p.m. in the Ministry Center. Childcare is provided. For further information about Serenity Church, visit their website at www.serenitychurch.net.
