SENIOR HIGH MISSION TRIP
March 10-16
Re-Ignite Senior High and Junior High youth and adults will become
the hands and feet of Christ in different locations over Spring Break. Our
Junior High will be in South Dallas working with C2K doing work for those who
are unable to help themselves. Their trip is March 11-14. Our Senior High will
be in Globe, Arizona on the San Carlos Apache Reservation the week of March
10-16. The San Carlos Apache Reservation is one of the poorest Native American
communities in the United States, with the median annual household income being
approximately $14,000. About 77 percent of the people live under the poverty
line. Thirty nine percent of families live in substandard housing and 40 percent
of the families live in overcrowded conditions. The Trietsch team will join
forces with AMOR Ministries to build houses for families who currently have no
residence whatsoever. What a joy to have their own residence! The money raised
will provide the building supplies needed for both the Junior High team and the
Senior High team’s projects as well as the transportation, lodging and meal
needs of the Mission teams. The youth will provide all of the labor!
HOW CAN YOU HELP OUR “MISSIONARIES” AND THE FAMILIES THEY
SERVE?
- Provide financial support to help purchase the building supplies as well as
send the workers to do the manual labor. The month of February is Re-Ignite
Mission Fundraising Month. We need to raise $80,000 during this one month. You
may sponsor an individual youth who is going on either trip or be a general
sponsor. All information about sponsorship is available at the Re-Ignite Mission
Trip table in the Connection Center and at the Youth Ministry Information stand
in the FLC.
- Be a Prayer Partner. Prayer partners are asked to pray for the group prior
to the time of departure and during the trip so that we are covered in prayer at
all times. Each prayer partner chooses a participant to cover in prayer and
writes a letter of encouragement to be received during the trip. Information
about becoming a Prayer Partner is also available at the above locations.
