Golf Tournament

Men’s and Ladies teams are now forming for the 2008 Fellowship and Fairways United Methodist Cup Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament will be at Riverchase Golf Course in Coppell on September 28 with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $100 per player, which includes green fees, cart, practice range balls, box lunch, BBQ dinner buffet, goody bag, door prizes, awards and of course a chance to win the Cup and bring it home to your church.
The beneficiary this year is Nothing But Nets. In the poorest parts of the world, where effective window screens are lacking, insecticide-treated bed nets are arguably the most cost-effective way to prevent malaria transmission. One bed net costs just $10 to buy and deliver to individuals in need and can safely last a family for about four years, thanks to a long-lasting insecticide woven into the net fabric. Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. The people of The United Methodist Church, along with Sports Illustrated, NBA Cares, the United Nations Foundation and several other groups, are raising funds to purchase bed nets to end malaria. You can join the cause and contribute money for bed nets that will keep children and families safe. The children of Africa need you to help stop the spread of this disease. With your help, we can slam dunk this disease.
