One Hour A Week Can Change a Life!
Poke your head into the Faith Voyage wing any Sunday morning and you will find the place abuzz with activity. Kids are learning the stories, values and lessons of the Bible using all of their gifts and abilities.
If you had been in Faith Voyage during August, you would have seen children of all ages learning about the Kingdom Parables of Jesus, which describe the diversity and inclusivity of God’s kingdom.
In Thou Art, our art workshop, the kids explored the Parable of the Sower, learning that God’s Word needs to fall on a fertile heart in order to grow. Their original artwork, made up of a diversity of seeds, was a tangible reminder of God’s plan for them.
In Our Daily Bread, children learned the Parable of the Great Feast, God’s open invitation to the world to join him in paradise. Hospitality was the theme of the day as the children baked Scripture Cakes to deliver to new visitors to Trietsch.
In Joseph & Sons workshop, students heard the Parable of the Bridesmaids and learned to “keep their lamps burning” for Jesus’ return and the arrival of God’s kingdom. To reinforce the lesson, they made clay lamps to take home.
And the learning continued in our games workshop (Mountain Movers), storytelling (Zacchaeus’ House), mission station (Mission Possible) and more. We currently have 14 workshops, each one offering a unique learning opportunity for our children and visitors.
Faith Voyage needs YOU! We need workshop leaders for the upcoming school year. Our workshop leaders serve every other month – for the entire month. Substitutes are available to help out as needed.
No experience is needed to be a workshop leader – just a love for God and a willingness to share that love with children. Lessons and supplies are prepared by other team members.
Other opportunities are also available:
Guides (especially with 1st grade)
Information Desk (at 11:00)
Won’t you share your love for Christ with the children of Trietsch? If you are interested in serving this life-changing ministry, contact Dina Steiner at dinas@tmumc.org. |
