Welcome!
This is the official website of the Family Life Center/Growing in Faith Capital Campaign of Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church. When we were in the process of constructing the Family Life Center, this site was a way to share information about construction and financials of the Family Life Center. Much of the material on this site has been conveyed to friends and members of Trietsch through special mailings and newsletters, but much information is also unique to the site. We have kept this information on the website so you can see how the process of building the Family Life Center progressed to get where we are today.
Our underlying message for making the Family Life Center "Growing in Faith" campaign successful was "Lord, what do You want to do through me?"
You can still donate to the Family Life Center or extend your pledge at any time. If you would like more informaiton on giving, contact Andrea Bell at andreab@tmumc.org or click on ONLINE GIVING to donate anytime.
If you have questions about the Family Life Center or the Growing in Faith Campaign, you can also contact us, and someone will get back to you.

FLC Open House Was Amazing |
| |
 |
We received our Certificate of Occupancy just days before our Open House on Sunday, May 22. It was a great day for everyone to get a "sneak peak" of the new building before all the furnishings were moved in. We surrounded the building in prayer as we prayed for the future ministries that will take place in the FLC.

 |
We invite you to prayerfully consider helping to furnish and equip the Family Life Center. The cost to furnish the FLC was included in the original plan approved by the congregation. However, with your sponsorship of a room or item, we can reduce the initial FLC cost, thus allowing us to incur less debt. Consider it a housewarming gift for the Trietsch family.
Click on the link to download a Gifts Brochure with more infromation on this opportunity of individual furnishings and by room. God may lead you to purchase one or more items in memory or honor of a loved one or groups may be led to furnish an entire room. If you would like to participate, please complete the information on this brochure and drop off or mail to the church office.

FLC Update - March 2011
|
| |
Construction on the Family Life Center is moving along and we hope to begin ministry in the new building in May or June. Of course that is all dependent on weather, as seen with the snow and ice days.
A committee has been formed and they are planning Family Life Center opening activities. Tentatively, May 22 has been scheduled for an all church opening event with a rain date of june 5. On May 28 we plan to host a Dodge Ball Tournament with lots of other activities to enjoy. More activities for the church and whole community like concerts and the musical Joseph & the Technicolor Dreamcoat, are being planned for later in the summer and early Fall.
We are nearing the end of the three year pledge period for the Growing in Faith Capital Campaign. We all need to fulfill our Growing in Faith commitments, as funding has been planned around those amounts. If you have not completed your pledge, would like to extend your pledge, would like to increase your pledge amount or have any questions, contact Andrea Bell in our Finance office at andreab@tmumc.org.
If you would like to donate to the Family Life Center, you can participate anytime, just click on the link to donate online or drop of your donation in the church office or in the offering plate any Sunday, mark Family Life Center in the memo line.

FLC Update - January 2011
Steel Prayers |
| |
The construction on the Family Life Center is really moving along. The walls are up and at night it is all lit up and seems so close to a reality of completion.
It is hard to believe that by this summer we will be able to do the ministry we have been dreaming about for years in the new Family Life Center. Completion is on track for May/June timeframe.
Just like we did with the Prayer Rocks, we would like the congregation to write prayers and scriptures on the final steel beams to be placed in the Family Life Center. The beams will be available in the Connection Center on Sunday, January 9. Stop by and write your prayers and/or scriptures on these beams and they will be installed in the Family Life Center later in the week. Just like the prayers we wrote on the rocks are part of the foundation of the building, these beams will helps us ensure the whole building is always surrounded in prayer all the way to the roof.
If you would like to donate to the Family Life Center, you can participate anytime, just click on the link to donate online. If you have questions about the Family Life Center, contact Rev. Lyle Benson at lyleb@tmumc.org or 972-539-8547, ext. 203.

| FLC Update - September 2010 |
| |
Construction on the Family Life Center at the south end of the Trietsch campus is moving right along and we should begin ministry in the new building in the Spring.
Steel beams continue to be delivered and after the fire lane is completed and approved by the Fire Marshal, construction will go vertical.
On a Sunday very soon, steel beams will be available for anyone to write prayers and scriptures on, which will be part of the structure of the Family Life Center. Just like the Prayer Rocks are in the foundation, our Steel Prayers will surround all ministry activities in the Family Life Center.
At various times during the construction, some of the current rear parking lot could be blocked off. To help ease congestion, please come a little early on Sundays and park at Marcus so we can help newcomers find a place to park so they can easily access worship.

Prayers in the FLC Foundation
On June 28, all the “Prayer Rocks” with scriptures and prayers from the congregation, children and youth, were placed in the foundation of the Family Life Center. This was a great way for all of us to place our blessing on the physical and spiritual foundation of the Family Life Center. |

Groundbreaking - March 28
|
| |
After years of working and planning, Trietsch is finally broke ground to build a Family Life Center.
The ground-breaking ceremony was March 28, with special guest Bishop Earl Bledsoe of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, church leaders, and members of both the Building Committee and Growing in Faith capital campaign committee.
The Family Life Center at Trietsch is a defining moment in the life of our church and will be a blessing for all ministries
In the almost 33,000-square-foot, two-story building, the Family Life Center at Trietsch will include a 6,850-square-foot, multi-use fellowship area and gymnasium with stage, a multi-use meeting area that can accommodate up to 250 people, a full-service kitchen capable of serving over 500 people, 12 multi-media capable classrooms, a youth fellowship area, two full sports fields, showers to allow for emergency shelter and overnight retreats. The site plan also leaves space to add 12 additional classrooms in a future phase.
The Family Life Center at Trietsch will enhance and give us the capacity to expand ALL OUR MINISTRIES. Imagine expanding our ability to make disciples for Jesus Christ. Imagine reaching children, youth, young adults, families and retirees.
Thank you all for your continued commitment to Trietsch’s mission “To know Christ, and to make Christ known.”

Exciting Milestone Reached!
March 2010
|
| |
| We have now reached our first goal of $2,000,000 in pledges received to our Family Life Center building project. This is a huge step in the development of this project. This gives the building committee what they need to sign the necessary documents and contracts to start construction. Praise God!
This is just the first step. Now comes the hard part of building the structure, finishing our capital goal of $5.4 million and using the building for the development of ministry that we have all dreamed about.
Thank you for all the hard work that you have done. My excitement grows as we get closer to achieving the vision that God has put upon the hearts of the people of Trietsch. Now is the time to make the most of this most visible part of the project.
If you still have not pledged, please find it in your heart to participate.

Family Life Center Approved to Move Forward
at Special Church Conference
A note from Rev. John Allen
I know many of you have already heard about the successful church meeting on October 8 regarding the Family Life Center. Thanks to all who made it possible. The vote was in favor of the construction and financial plan as presented. Now we have much work to do over the next few months.
First, we need to raise about $719,000 to finish collecting the first $2,000,000 of our capital campaign to begin construction by January 1. Already, we have received a check for the full amount of one family's commitment. I think we will see much more of this in the next few months. It is very important for everyone to participate in this financial drive to the finish. Some will be able pitch in large amounts while others will be smaller. Remember... many hands lighten the load.
Second, our success will rely on our will. We have the capacity to do great things for God, the question is: do we have the will? I want to challenge you to a season of prayer and fasting. Let's make sure that every group in our church adds this project to their prayer list. For those who can, fasting at least one day a week from sunrise to sundown is an excellent way to honor God and seek God's will for our lives and church. Let us all pray now more than ever - "Lord, what do you want to do through me?"
Third, let us not forget our Family Life Center pledges of $5.4 million from the Growing in Faith campaign. While we need to raise the $700,000 for construction to begin, our church needs us to fulfill our Growing in Faith commitments. I believe God is already blessing this project and our action of faith last week. Let us claim not only the amount we have committed but the blessing that God will provide the full amount for this project.
Again, thank you very much for what you are doing for Christ and His church.
Yours in Christ's Service,
John Allen

Family Life Center Building Fund
Reaches Million Dollar Milestone
Within the last few weeks the funds received from the pledges for the Family Life Center reached the $1 million dollar milestone mark. With your support, this milestone was reached only one year after the Capital Campaign began.
The success of the Family Life Center campaign is due in large part to the outstanding volunteer efforts of the Growing in Faith committee members.
According to Executive Pastor, Lyle Benson, “We are very thankful for the efforts of our volunteers and staff who have worked so hard to make this possible. We are extremely grateful for the wonderful generosity of all who have graciously contributed to the campaign to make the $1 million milestone a reality.”
As we reach beyond the ordinary to achieve the extraordinary, the Family Life Center will enhance the ministries of Trietsch. We are confident that we will surpass our goal.
The Building Committee has been hard at work over the last several weeks, as they have received personal presentations from five General Contractors. The committee decided to go with MEDCO as the General Contractor for the project.
The architects will complete the final documents in the beginning of May and then MEDCO will price the final estimate for completion of the project. We have our loan package requests out to potential lenders and are answering their questions at this time.
We are on schedule for a final charge conference some time in September. Once we have the loan package in place and final construction documents from MEDCO we will schedule the Charge Conference.
If you have not already pledged to the Family Life Center and would like to, you can pick up a pledge card in the church office or CLICK HERE to download one.
We have also just added a convenient way to donate to Trietsch online. CLICK HERE to make your pledge payments anytime.

Family Life Center - Mar. '09 |
The focus and passion of the Family Life Center and “Growing in Faith” Campaign is to enable Trietsch to minister more effectively to the needs of our community. This is a God-given idea — a destination toward which we are moving. The road ahead is full of wonderful opportunities. At the September 11, 2008, Charge Conference, members unanimously approved to take the next step toward building the Family Life Center and contract with H&H Architects to develop detailed building plans and construction documents.
The Building Committee has been meeting for months working out all the details, and we wanted to keep you updated on their progress. Below are some of the high points of what the Building Committee has been working on and is coming up:
- Regular meetings with H&H Architects
- Regular meetings with MEDCO to obtain pricing guidelines
- Meetings with the Town of Flower Mound to get final design and materials approval
- Finalizing the project plan to submit to the Town of Flower Mound for final approval
- Submit for permits
- Proceed with construction documents once plans approved
- Obtain three firm general contractor bids
- Once a general contractor is selected, they will be required to acquire three bids for all sub-contracting
- The contract with the general contractor will be an open contract so that we can look at all sub contractor bids
- A Charge Conference will be called in June or July of this year for members to have final approval on construction documents and pricing
- Construction to begin in July 2009, with completion in May 2010
The 32,000 square foot, two-story, multi-use building includes:
- A 6,850 square foot, multi-use fellowship area and gymnasium with full-size stage that can seat 700 theater-style
- A multi-use meeting area on the first floor, dividable to accommodate meetings of up to 250
- Catering kitchen to allow service to 500+ with concession area
- 12 classrooms
- Youth arcade/fellowship area
- 6 offices
- Facility equipped with showers to allow for shelter and overnight purposes
- Site placement to allow for two full sport fields
To date, the “Growing in Faith” Campaign so far has received 449 pledges totaling $5,433,800. Those pledge payments are coming in every day. If you have not yet pledged to the campaign, there is opportunity to give throughout the three year duration. You can pick up a Commitment Card in the church office or CLICK HERE to download or for further information. |

Family Life Center - Jan. '09 |
Above is a computerized rendition of the lobby of the proposed Family Life Center. This would be the entrance when coming from the current Trietsch building.
The Building Committee is meeting regularly with the architects and design team to finalize the construction documents in order to assess final project costs as they were instructed to do with the membership’s approval at the September 11, 2008, Charge Conference.
The Building Committee plans to have the construction documents and projected costs ready in order to hold a charge conference in June or July of this year to review the final documents to proceed.
You can view this and other rendition posters in full color at various church entrances and outside the sanctuary over the coming months.

Lay Leader Suzanne Sutton was so excited by the outcome of the September 11th Charge Conference that she walked around the Ministry Center after it was over saying, “It’s a great day in the life of Trietsch.”
Trietsch members in attendance voted unanimously to take the next step toward building a Family Life Center on the Dixon Lane property adjacent to the church. Trietsch will now contract with H&H Architects to develop detailed building plans and construction documents.
Once this step is completed and we’ve received construction documents and firm construction estimates, Trietsch will have another Charge Conference to approve breaking ground on the project.
Many thanks to the Trietsch Building Committee, who prepared a very detailed presentation about the proposed building.
The proposed building is approximately 32,000 square foot, two-story, multi-use building including:
• A 6,850 s.f. multi-use fellowship area and gymnasium with full-size stage
• A multi-use meeting area on the first floor, dividable to accommodate meetings of up to 250
• Catering kitchen to allow service to 500+ with concession area
• 12 classrooms
• Youth arcade/fellowship area
• Site placement to allow for 2 full sport fields for Upward
• Facility equipped with showers to allow for shelter and overnight purposes
• 6 offices
