Care & Support

Care & Support Ministry

Care & Support is the ministry of care and counseling. We aim to help people through any kind of major or minor crisis. This includes listening, supporting, encouraging and befriending. In times of need, care and counseling is just a phone call away. We support the congregation, Trietsch members and the broader community. Our ministry is led by clergy, staff and dedicated servants with a heart for personal care.

"I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you gave me clothes to wear. I was sick and you took care of me. I was in prison and you visited me." Matthew 25: 35-36

Check out our upcoming events to see groups that you can connect with or email Rev. Doug Meyer, Associate Pastor of Caring Ministries, for personal care requests.

Support Groups

Support groups are small groups of people interested in the support of others who are facing similar challenges. The groups are structured around the topic, led by trained facilitators and are a great resource for building relationships while growing through life's challenges. Support groups include, but are not limited to, grief, addiction and illness.

To get connected to a support group, email Rev. Doug Meyer, Associate Pastor of Caring Ministries.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system.

Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

To learn more or to connected with a Stephen Minister, contact Rev. Doug Meyer at dougm@tmumc.org or 972-539-8547 ext. 242.

Grief Seminar

The Grief Seminar, Coping with Loss, provides participants with opportunities to understand the emotional and physical dynamics of grief. We will help you decrease a sense of isolation and increase a sense of normalcy through contact with others in similar situations and share personal experiences within a safe, caring and understanding environment.  This seminar is 5 weeks in duration and is free of cost.

Pastoral Care

Few, if any, of us get through life's challenges without help from others. From time to time we all need a little help and support, whether it's a meal, special prayer, visit or transportation. Based upon Jesus' call to love one another, the Pastoral Care of Trietsch seeks to provide support to members in time of need.

If you would like to schedule an appointment with a pastor, hospital visits or need any other kind of help, call 972-539-8547 or email Rev. Doug Meyer at dougm@tmumc.org

After hours, please call 972-539-8547 ext. 398, and follow the prompts for pastoral care, 24-hours a day.
