Trietsch offers various study opportunities each Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer that appeal to a wide range of adults — from those just beginning to seek answers, to new believers, to mature Christians. If you have questions about plugging in to a Bible Study, email Denise Robinson at deniser@tmumc.org or call at 972-539-8547 ext. 220.

We offer Bible Studies and book studies throughout the week. Whether you are very familiar with the Bible or picking it up for the first time, you are welcome to join any of our studies.

Discerning the Voice of God

Mondays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • January 7 - March 4 • Room 110

The group will be studying Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer.  Through 7 sessions, discover the root to clear and daily communication with God - humble obedience.  Learn how surrender unlocks His many blessings intended for us, centers us in His will, and helps us discern His voice in everyday life.

Study for winter is When Christ Was Here: A Women's Bible Study by Claudia Barba. Most of Us have a basic knowledge of the term incarnation, but do we really understand what it meant to Christ? To the people He met? Its implications for us today? Claim the amazing truth of the incarnation as you work through this Bible study that explores the wonders of Christ's humanity and deity.

Lies we Believe About God

Tuesdays  • 6:30 - 8 pm  • January 15 - March 12  • Room 170

The class will study Lies we Believe About God by William Paul Young.  The author shares 28 commonly uttered and sometimes seemingly innocuous things we say about God.  Paul exposes these as lies that keep us from having a full, loving relationship with out Creator.

 

Women's WEDNESDAY Morning Bible StudIES
It's Not Too Late: How God Uses Less than Perfect People

Wednesdays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • January 9 - April 3 • Room 110

The class will study It's Not Too Late: How God Uses Less than Perfect People by Tony Evans.  God frequently uses borken people to accomplish His purposes on Earth.  This 6 session study looks at 3 men and 3 women of the Bible who were used mightily by God desipite their previous mistakes.

 

Psalm 23 (The Shepherd With Me)

Wednesdays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • January 9 - February 6 • Room 115

The study in late Fall/early Winter is Psalm 23 (The Shepherd With Me) by Jennifer Rothschild.  Explore God's compassionate care and debunk self-reliance!  Learn to trust the Shepherd's goodness in all seasons of life.  Learn to see your vulnerability as a strength to rely on God.  Banish your fears! 

 

Job (A Story of Unlikely Joy)

Wednesdays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • February 13 -  April 3 • Room 115

The class will study in late winter Job (A Story of Unlikely Joy) by Lisa Harper.  Joy can be the constant companion of a woman who trusts in the Lord.  Let's be a judgment-free community where we ask questions about Job and learn to lean into the arms of Jesus and trust His presence to be our constant source of joy, no matter how difficult or devastating we find some chapters of our lives.

 

The Quest

Wednesdays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • April 10 -  May 15 • Room 115

The study for Spring is The Quest by Beth Moore. This study explores Scripture to understand how God created us to seek after Him - God desires to be found and known.  You will learn to develop intimacy with Him and embrace the adventure that comes with living a life with God.

Becoming Heart Sisters

Thursdays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • January 17 - Feb 21 • Room 120

The winter study is Becoming Heart Sisters by Natalie Chambers Snapp.  Friendships with other women are as important to our mental, physical and spiritual health as rest, exercise and prayer.  The author guides us through the process of finding and nurturing healthy, authentic friendships that enrich our lives, honor God and build up the body of Christ.

 

All Things New

Thursdays  • 9:30 - 11:30 am  • February 28 - April 25 • Room 120

The second study for the class is All Things New: a Study of 2 Corinthians by Kelly Minter.  Over 8 sessions the author will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the  midst of hurtful relationships andwhat it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant.

 

Trietsch Book Club

The Trietsch Book Club meets every other month at 7pm. The schedule and books they are reading for 2019 are as follows:

Ongoing Studies

Life Journey for Women

No Registration Necessary • Wednesdays, 12-1 pm • Room 111

This one hour Bible study helps us get in the habit of reading the Bible daily with about 15-20 minutes of daily reading.  The weekly gathering provides the opportunity to share how the Scripture readings made an impact during the week as well as share what God is doing in our lives.  This Bible study can be joined at any time throughout the year.  Drop in anytime!

 

Men’s Friday Morning Study

No Registration Necessary • Fridays, 6-7 am • Ministry Center

Men of all ages are welcome to join this men's study group any time during the year.  We explore what it means to be a "man" in our own lives, our families, our businesses, and our community.  In the changing face of the world we live in, the time is right for all of us to be engaged in study that will provide insights and guidance on how to live out the life principles revealed in Holy Scripture. Drop in Anytime!  We meet in the Ministry Center, which is located across the amphitheater from the Main Entrance.

 

Men's Sunday Morning Study

No Registration Necessary  • Sundays, 8-9 am •  Room 230 (Family Life Center)

Men study scripture to discover its meaning and how to apply them to our everyday lives so we can grow in our faith and walk with Jesus. Join us on the second floor of the Family Life Center, room 230.

 

Wednesday Night Bible Study (WNBS)

1st & 3rd Wednesdays  • 7:00 pm  • Offsite

WNBS is an ongoing study that is a self-paced walk through the Bible. We are just beginning our study on the Book of John.  We will read 2 to 3 chapters a week and then discuss the scripture during our time together.  We discuss what we didn't understand and what was revealed to us in each week's reading.  Come join us for fellowship and study.  We meet at 7:00 pm on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the home of Patty and Jim Bronaugh. Can join at any time.

Many classes have study guides and/or books that are part of the class. Unless otherwise noted, please purchase your materials prior to the first day of class. Free childcare is available during most studies with a 48-hour advance reservation to childcare@tmumc.org or 972-539-8547, ext. 299. (Childcare is free, but donations are welcome).
