Worship Sundays @ 8 AM - 9:30 AM - 11 AM

Off-Limits Worship Series

Could you use a little more faith? A little more hope? A little more understanding? Navigating the Bible and how it applies to our world today can be overwhelming, but we want to help start the conversations.

In August we are diving into a worship series called "Off-Limits: Tackling the Tough Questions." Every Sunday we are going to cover a different topic that you voted on during the month of June. Click here to learn more about the voting results. But it's not enough to simply think through a topic in a preaching environment. We want to create plenty of opportunities for you to have two-way conversations with each other and pastors around each topic.

Check out all of the ways you can connect during the Off-Limits worship series.

Sundays at 8, 9:30, or 11 am in Sanctuary

August 5 For the Bible Tells Me So
How can we decide what is contextual and what is literal from the Bible?

August 12 Caught Between Heaven and Hell
Can we claim to serve a merciful, grace-filled God if he allows good people to spend eternity in hell just because they don't believe in Jesus?

August 19 Modern Church Ladies
What does the Bible say about women's role in the church and in general?

August 26 The Holy Hookup
What does sexuality or sexual orientation have to do with following Christ or leading others to Christ?

Dessert & Dialogue
Sundays at 1:30 pm in Ministry Center

We encourage you to grab brunch or lunch after worship on Sunday mornings and then come back at 1:30 pm for a yummy dessert and meaningful conversation. Each week we will divide out into small groups of 5-7 people to discuss the topic covered in worship that morning. Here are some ground rules to help prepare your heart and mind:

  1. Listen First
Be fully present and attentive. Tune in to what your peers at your table are trying to express without thinking about what you want to say next. Seek to listen above being heard.
  2. Be Impeccable with your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
  3. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. Respect their story.
  4. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.
  5. Begin and End with Love
This is an open-ended discussion that may not end with solutions. It might even end with more questions. Keep God's love at the center as together we try to understand what it is to follow Jesus.
Starbucks Meetups

Would you like to have conversations with our pastors in a neutral environment? Each of our pastors have dedicated one day of the week to meet at the Starbucks on 407 and Morriss. Stop by for a cup of coffee with them and ask any questions you may have about the Off-Limits worship series. No need to register or let them no you're coming. Just show up and they'll be there.
