The team started on the house at 8:30 this morning. They were able to scrape, prime and get the 1st coat of paint on today. They usually never get to the painting on the first day, so that is great progress. There are quite a few repairs they are having to make that takes time. They finished around 4:30 today. They will have dinner, small group time, worship and then get to bed early for a full day of work tomorrow. |

Leann called at 5:55 p.m. The team did not get to work today due to the rain. They were originally scheduled to go to Main Event tomorrow, but switched to today. They bowled, played laser tag and ate pizza. The kids are at a movie right now seeing "Horton Hears a Who." Kris Melvin was scheduled to go to Mexico today, but the rains cancelled his flight until the moring, so he is coming back to be with the Jr. High group tonight. Tonight the team will have dinner, go to the Tyler Street United Methodist Church, which is one of the oldest churches in Dallas. They will play basketball in the really cool gym on the 3rd floor. After that they will have worship, small group time and go to bed. In the morning if it is not raining, they will finish the job at the house and still plan on being back at the church by 2:30 p.m. In case you have heard on the news about the flooding in Oak Cliff, they are absolutely fine where they are at. There is no flooding and they have had no problems driving around. |
