Love Your Enemies

"But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!"

Matthew 5:44 (NLT)

Well, these are some of the hardest words of Jesus aren’t they! We’ve got to love our enemies and pray for people who persecute us? What if Jesus really meant what he said?

Jesus' words in Scripture stand apart from the rest not only because they’re his words, but in many Bibles, they are printed in red. These red letters tell compelling stories and make bold claims that inspire, challenge, and sometimes even confuse us. The redletters of Scripture were relevant when they were first spoken over 2,000 years ago and they remain relevant today. What if we took them as seriously as Jesus did…the red letters?

Join us this Sunday as we continue on our red letter journey! Jesus is speaking to us and teaching us that we have to be different. As his followers, we are called to different behavior, different lives, different criteria for living. He never said it would be easy, but he did promise to be with us!

Be sure to invite someone to church to encounter the red letters! They will be given life and you will be a blessing to them!
