2007 Vacation Bible School

Lay Leader: Suzanne Sutton

VBS 2007 A HUGE SUCCESS!

Yeehaw! VBS this year was an incredible wild ride through God’s Word! Avalanche Ranch was hopping with 833 kids and 484 volunteers making it happen.
The annual goat vs. cow battle raged, with the goat edging
out the bovine at the last minute. Senior Pastor Jim Ozier had his toothbrush and Scope ready as he prepared the little goat for the Big Smooch. The real winner was Heifer International, for whom the
children brought in over $7,000 to buy working animals for people in Mozambique.
We also surpassed our goal by Collecting 1087 pair of jeans for the CCA Back-to-School program. Worship leader Kris Melvin finally got to pull his pants up over his Scooby-Doos and put on a belt at Friday night’s Family Hoedown!
The Hoedown itself was also a huge success, with over 1,000
people in attendance. The kids loved the farm animal petting zoo
set up in the parking lot, including goats, calfs, chickens and llamas.
The VBS Leadership Team, headed by Suzanne Sutton, did a wonderful job making this event happen! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. Lives were changed this year at VBS!
